The English Bus went to BATH and STONEHENGE!
We met at the meeting point at 9am with everyone excited for the long day ahead! The weather was AMAZING, not a cloud in the sky and a hot day. Well, hot for England anyway!
This trip we had 13 people, 3 from Poland, 3 from Colombia, 3 from Japan, 1 Brazilian and 2 Indians and of course Chris, the British driver/guide/teacher. An interesting and typical international mix which ensured that everyone was speaking English to communicate!
After we left London we got into the countryside and continued driving until we reached Stonehenge at about 11.15am

We spend about one and a half hours at Stonehenge looking at the stones, talking about the history and taking many pictures. Some people chose to listen to free audio tours, some people chose English and some chose their language!
We left Stonehenge at 12.45pm and drove to Bath through some beautiful and peaceful countryside. We drove past fields and forests, and through classic English towns and villages. Just before 2pm we arrived in Bath where we drove to a beautiful park for a delicious picnic.

As you can see from the picture the picnic was in the amazing setting of the Royal Crescent, the most beautiful street in Bath and one of the most famous and beautiful streets in England!

After the picnic we began walking around Bath together. As we walked people took pictures and we talked about the history and architecture of Bath. It really is an amazingly beautiful city, so special that the whole city is a UNESCO world heritage site. See more information here Bath

We continued walking around the city for a few hours looking at churches, people watching, walking along the river until finally we found a great pub with some very cold beer. Everyone sat down in the sun and chatted and relaxed!

At about 5.45pm it was time to leave and return to London. Chris collected the bus and picked everyone up from the pub!
Well, they thought they were going directly back to London. But, they were wrong! There was just time for one more stop. Chris told everyone that this would be a "secret" place. On the way to the "secret place" we saw an interesting white horse on the side of a hill. Many people asked about this so we stopped the bus and got out to have a look and take some pictures! Chris explained some of the history about the horse!

After the horse we started driving again but we still hadn't stopped at our "secret" place! 45 minutes after we left Bath we entered the very interesting village of Avebury, the ancient site of a stone circle and a fantastic traditional pub! We jumped out of the bus and had another cold drink outside the pub while some people looked at the stone circle and some people just relaxed

At 7.30pm it was finally time to return to London, no more "secret" places! We drove back to London, chatting about the day while we were on the bus, chatting in English of course! We got back to London at 9.30pm tired but with big smiles after a long but fun day!
