Conditions.

1. Contract

By contracting with The English Bus you will be accepting these terms and conditions on behalf of yourself and all other persons using our services pursuant to a booking made by you.

2. Payment

Full payment is required at time of booking. We accept payment by credit or debit card. Full payment is required before your booking can be confirmed.

Customers from an institution offering a tour discount must bring evidence of attendance at the relevant institution for the discount to be valid. If no proof of attendance is shown, the balance of the full retail price must be paid before the tour commences or your booking will be cancelled. Monies will be returned in accordance with clause 9 of the terms and conditions regarding cancellations.

3. Terms & conditions

Relating to the supply of the service to you (The Customer) by The English Bus, details of which are set out below.

4. Tickets

Customers purchasing tickets on this website will need to bring a printed or electronic receipt of their booking and show it to the driver on arrival at the departure point.

5. Date of departure & collection timings

These are subject to change or cancellation, should unforeseen circumstances occur. Please reconfirm at time of booking. A tour is non refundable if you miss the departure time through no fault of ours. We are under no obligation to wait for late passengers, however we will make every effort to make sure you join the tour. Please ensure that you are at the stated departure point for your tour at least 15 minutes before the departure time. We cannot rebook or refund for you missing a tour as a result of delays on other transport such as the underground, buses, traffic or trains.

6. Convenient returns

Your driver has to work under strict legal and time restrictions and therefore you will be dropped back at convenient stops, depending on the traffic conditions. Victoria, Earls Court, Westminster and Waterloo will usually feature in these drop-offs but this is subject to change based on traffic conditions and timings. Your driver will be happy to assist and advise you. All tours will return to the departure points we left from at the start of the tour.

7. Smoking

Smoking is not permitted on the bus, but all tours make frequent stops.

8. Children

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a maximum of 2 children for each adult booking to ensure safety. The minimum age for children travelling on The English Bus is 3 years old.

9. Cancellations

Our cancellation policy is super flexible, so you can book with peace of mind. Booking direct will give you the best prices.

  • Bookings will be 100% refundable (less a £5 per person admin fee) if we, The English Bus, are notified at least 24 hours before departure.
  • Bookings cancelled within 24 hours of departure will be non refundable and non transferable, and no shows will also be non refundable.
  • We can move you to an alternative date, at no extra cost, provided we have availability, and are given more than 24 hours notice before the date of the original departure.

10. Tour route

The English Bus reserves the right to deviate from the advertised route of a tour in the event of unforeseen circumstances, or where reasonably prudent to do so in the light of circumstances beyond The English Bus’ control. Every effort, however, will be made to visit the prearranged sites advertised.

11. Accident or loss

Please take care of all personal property. The English Bus will not be liable for any loss, damage, delay, inconvenience, direct or consequential loss, however caused, unless due to negligence by the Company, in which case our liability is limited (except for death or personal injury) for damages to a maximum of the refund of the tour price.

12. Insurance

You are advised to take out insurance, which would be able to cover you in the event that you have to cancel your booking or compensate you for delays and/or damage to your property.

13. Force majeure

Where the whole tour is cancelled before departure because of unusual or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, then we will refund all money already paid by you but you will not be entitled to any compensation for the loss of the tour. Where the tour is interrupted to a significant extent by circumstances beyond our control The English Bus will refund what is deemed to be a fair proportion of the cost of the tour.

14. Behaviour

You will be responsible for the conduct of yourself and you will indemnify us against any liability for damage caused by you or any members of your party. We reserve the right to refuse boarding to any passenger deemed unfit or unwell so as to put others at risk. In this event our responsibility for the booking thereupon ceases. Full cancellation charges will apply and we will be under no obligation whatsoever for any refund, compensation or loss you may incur.

We reserve the right to terminate the tour in the event of behaviour deemed to be unreasonable by our staff.  Also the driver may at their discretion require any person to alight from a tour at any point if his/her conduct is deemed offensive or a nuisance to other passengers, or if behaving in such a way as to constitute a risk to his/her safety or to the safety of other passengers, and we shall have no further liability.

15. Seatbelts

Where the guest occupies a vehicle seat fitted with a safety belt, neither The English Bus, nor the operator nor its agents or cooperating organisations or service providers will be liable for any injury, illness, or death or for any loss or damaged or claims whatsoever arising from any accident or incident, if the safety belt is not being worn at the time of such an accident or incident. This exclusion and limitation of liability shall not be used to imply that the Operator or its agents or affiliated entities are liable in other circumstances.

16. Covid

Currently, presenting a negative lateral flow or PCR test in order to take part in a tour, has not been mandated by the government. However if any guest displays any symptoms of COVID-19, at any point during or before the tour starts, they will not be allowed to travel with us and will have to rebook for an alternative date, at your own expense. You have a responsibility NOT to travel if you are displaying any covid symptoms or are testing positive. We reserve the right to refuse you entry at any point during the tour or before the tour has started, and will not be liable for any associated costs, should you display symptoms that put others at increased risk, resulting in you leaving the tour on the day. This does not affect our normal booking terms, and should you cancel with less than 24 hours notice prior to the departure date, you will not be eligible for a refund. We highly advise you take out travel insurance to cover you in the event of illness.

17. Complaints

Should you have a complaint during or after your tour with The English Bus, contact The English Bus and they will do their best to rectify your problem. If The English Bus cannot resolve your complaint at the time please contact us within 21 days of your tour and it will be dealt with. We will not be able to deal with any complaints unless The English Bus is told in that way and within 21 days.
