Oxford, Royal Windsor and Eton

A one day tour visiting some of the best that southern England has to offer. The historic city of Oxford and its world famous 900+ year old university, the town of Eton, home of Eton College, England's most prestigious school and the Queen's weekend home, Windsor.

Windsor and Eton

After departing from our meeting point, we'll have an interesting drive out of London with full commentary from your driver/guide pointing out places of interest along the route.

After a relatively short journey from London we'll arrive in the town of Royal Windsor - home of the spectacular weekend residence of the Queen. Adjacent to Windsor is the historic town of Eton, just across the River Thames and 5 minutes walk from the castle. Eton is home to Eton College - arguably England's best school and certainly its most prestigious having educated countless Kings, Princes and Prime ministers.

On arrival in Windsor we'll begin a short walking tour of the town, discussing the history and heritage of Windsor Castle and investigating the most interesting and intriguing parts of this beautiful town. On finishing the tour there will be plenty of free time in which to visit Windsor Castle, explore Eton and have some lunch looking up at the turrets of the castle.

Oxford

Following our fully commentated drive through the rolling hills and fields of the classic English countryside we will arrive in the city of Oxford. World famous for its university - the oldest in the English speaking world having been founded in the 11th century, Oxford is a delight to visit. Stunning architecture, fascinating history, a unique academic atmosphere and environment, Oxford has something for everyone. We'll take you on a walking tour of Oxford to see its most wonderful colleges, gardens, alleys, pubs, gargoyles. With so many stories to tell and so much imagination to capture you are sure to enjoy Oxford. Following our walking tour there will be plenty of time to explore, perhaps visiting a college, having a drink in a pub (there are many we can suggest!), shopping for souvenirs - take your pick!

Windsor & Eton

Windsor and Eton are two of the most visited tourist destinations in England for good reason - Windsor Castle, perhaps the premier castle in England, is a must see with it's wonderful historic architecture and huge collection of antiques, art and gifts given to the royal family over the years.

In Eton you'll find England's most famous school which has educated many of England's best known upper class male members of society including Princes William and Harry.

Oxford

The world's most famous university city? You decide. The fact is 9.1 million people visit this small, beautiful historic city every year for a good reason.

The University of Oxford is 900 years old and has 38 "colleges" Many very old and very beautiful like Christ Church College - the setting of Harry Potter. Oxford is not only very old and historic but beautifully peaceful and green, the perfect example of a classic English settlement.

Day 1 - A Wonderful day in Windsor, Eton and Oxford!
8.45am - Meet outside Kennington Underground Station

After we meet, we'll introduce ourselves, your driver/guide will explain the plan for the day and we'll start driving through London to Oxford with a toilet/coffee stop on the way!

Mid Morning - Arrive Oxford

On our way to Oxford we will have a good chat about the city to find out what we know and get a good overview before we get to the historical city, home to the oldest university in the English speaking world.

Mid Morning to Early Afternoon - Walking tour of Oxford and the University, lunch and free time

After arriving in Oxford we will begin a 60 minute walking tour of the city, taking in the best of Oxford University and some of its most beautiful colleges and buildings, including Christ Church and the Radcliffe Camera. We will learn about the history of the city and its university and some of the more unusual traditions surrounding the university! After the tour there will be plenty of time to visit some colleges if you wish, have some lunch and buy some souvenirs!

Afternoon/Evening - Drive to Windsor, tour of Windsor and Eton and time to visit Windsor Castle

In the early afternoon we will take the short trip to Windsor from Oxford. On arrival you'll have the chance to take a short guided walk of the lovely town and the adjacent Eton with its famous school, just across the River Thames. Then plenty of free time when you are able to explore some more or visit Windsor Castle (ticket not included in tour price)

7.45pm - Arrive Central London

At approximately 7.45pm we will arrive back in Central London and we will drop you at the most convenient place possible in zone 1 after a great day!

What's included in the Trip Price?

The trip price includes all your travel and the services of your friendly driver and guide. It also includes complimentary water while we are on the bus. There are absolutely no compulsory entrance tickets to be purchased on the day.

What's not included in the Trip Price?

The trip price does not include entrance to any Oxford colleges which you may wish to visit. Budget £3 - £7.50 to visit a college of your choice. Windsor Castle entrance is not included, tickets are £16.50 for adults and £15.00 for students.
